Head Coach - Nathan Hager

Nathan Hager has been the head men's basketball coach at Regis since the program began in 2007. He will enter his 16th year at the helm of the Pride program in 2022-23.

Led by First Team All-GNAC selection Marc Trinidad, the sixth player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career, the Pride posted a 13-13 record in the 2021-22 season, including a 9-9 mark in the conference. Regis defeated Colby-Sawyer in the first round of the GNAC Tournament, the first victory for the program in the conference tournament since joining the league.

Hager helped his team recover from a slow start in 2019-20, winning five of six games and eventually qualifying for the GNAC Tournament thanks to a late-season victory over Colby-Sawyer. Senior Josh Germain became the program's all-time assists leader, while junior Marc Trinidad set the single-season rebounding record.

The 2018-19 squad was led by Second Team All-GNAC selection Ademola Afonja, who became the fifth player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career and ended up second on the all-time scoring list with 1,294 career points. Afonja received the prestigious Regis-Casserly Award for his exemplary work not only on the court, but also in the classroom and in the community, as he became the third Regis men's basketball player in history to earn the high honor.

In 2017-18, Hager led the Pride as they competed within the Great Northeast Athletic Conference for the first time, finishing the year fifth in the regular season standings with a 9-7 league record.

On Nov. 14, 2015, Hager earned his 100th career victory as Regis defeated Emerson, 67-65, to win the Coaches vs. Cancer Greater Boston Shootout. The team reached double figures in overall victories for the eighth straight year and advanced to the NECC Tournament semifinals for the fifth straight year.

The 2014-2015 season saw the program reach new heights as it captured its first ever New England Collegiate Conference championship and earned its first berth to the Division III NCAA tournament. Along with a program best 19-9 overall and 12-4 conference record, the program also saw individual accolades pile up as two student-athletes were named First and Second Team All-Conference respectively.

In 2013-2014 Hager led the team to their third consecutive NECC semifinal. The Pride had three All-Conference performers, including one first teamer and the NECC Rookie of the year. In 2012-2013, he led the Pride to a prior program best 11-5 conference record and first ever conference championship game. For his team's efforts, he earned his first New England Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year award and three student-athletes were placed on the All-Conference team.

Hager was tabbed the first Men's Basketball Coach at Regis in November of 2006. The Franklin, Penn., native promptly led the first year program to a competitive campaign in 2007-2008 with a 9-16 record. Hager quickly turned the Pride into a winning program, finishing the 2010-11 season with a 15-12 record and appearances in The Commonwealth Coast Conference and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference post-season tournaments.

Before coming to Weston, Hager had spent the previous three and a half seasons as the associate head coach for Greg Curley, at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Hager played an important part in building a championship caliber program, which ascended the Eagles to conference championship games in 2007 and 2008. As recruiting coordinator at Juniata, Hager helped successfully recruited three all-conference performers along with one D3hoops.com All-Region performer.

Before arriving back at Juniata, Hager spent two seasons as the top assistant at Bethany College in West Virginia. In 2001-2002, under head coach Rob Clune, the Bison finished 21-8, captured the President's Athletics Conference regular season and tournament championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The following year, under head coach Aaron Huffman, Hager was a big part of the rebuilding process where he helped recruit one D3hoops.com All-American and two D3hoops.com All-Region performers.

Hager, a 2001 Juniata graduate, was a four-year starter and two year captain for head coach Rick Ferry. After averaging over 10 points per game for his career, Hager was named the Jack Oller Most Valuable Player his senior season and received the William R. Smaltz Award in 2001. During his time at Juniata, Hager was the student-athlete representative on the NCAA Interpretations and Legislations Committee and worked as an intern with Auburn University compliance office during the summer months.

After earning his BA in Management/Marketing from Juniata, Hager completed a Master's of Science in Athletic Coaching Education at West Virginia University in 2003.

Before Juniata, Hager played for his father, Bill Hager, a member of the Pennsylvania Basketball Hall of Fame, at Franklin Area High School. There he was a part of four league championships, one district championship and made three appearances in the PIAA state tournament. He finished his high school career with a record of 95-17.

Hager lives in Stratham, N.H. with wife Erin. They have four daughters: Emma, Frances, Grace, and Brooklynn.

Assistant Coach - Zach Stevens

Zach Stevens enters his second year on the Regis College athletics staff as the assistant men's basketball coach in 2022-23.

In 2021-22, the men's basketball team posted a 13-13 overall record, including a 9-9 mark within the GNAC. The Pride won a home first round game in the GNAC Tournament to advance to the quarterfinals.

Stevens has spent four years as an assistant coach at Plymouth State University, helping with recruiting, practice plans, game plans, in-game coaching, and player development. He also assisted in monitoring player's academic performance, oversaw film exchange, scouted opponents, coordinated team travel, and distributed equipment.

Stevens played at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, N.H., from 2011 to 2013 before transferring to Plymouth State to complete his collegiate career, playing for the Panthers from 2013 to 2016. As a senior at Plymouth State, he received the Phil Rowe Hardest Worker in Practice Award.

Over the years, Stevens has worked numerous camps, including the Next Level Basketball Academy/New Hampshire Storm AAU Program every year since 2013. In 2018, he helped run the Kyrie Irving/Jayson Tatum Pro Camp.

Stevens received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Plymouth State in 2016.
